In 2000, with the rapid development of TBEA, it undertakes more and more national important projects, and there appeared at the same time some technical obstacles to be conquered. In order to undertake the national important and large equipment manufacturing, TBEA decided to set up a post-doctorate station with its technical advantages and bridge the gap between TBEA and the domestic and overseas universities and research institutes.

The TBEA post-doctorate station, the first of its kind in Xinjiang, which was approved by the State Personnel Ministry in Nov. 2005, came into operation on 5th, July, 2001. The leadership of the Autonomous Region attached much importance to this post-doctorate station that Mr. Wang Lequan, the standing member of the Political Bureau of CPC, the General Secretary of the CPC Committee in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region come for the opening ceremony.

After the establishment of the post-doctorate station, a steady relation has been maintained with Xi'an Jiaotong University, Zhejiang University, University of Science & Technology of China, Power Research Institute of China Academy of Science for recruitment and education of post doctors. Up till June, 2005, two post doctors have been introduced to the station, and one has come out of it, one is going through the procedures.

TBEA post-graduate station for scientific research and development has functioned as a very good platform for the recruit members. The post doctors, who are subject to their specific tasks, enjoy large-scaled research freedom, sufficient fund has been offered by TBEA for their research, and a cooperative relationship with the State well-known universities and research institutes has been formed for sufficient support on technology and information.

Four years after the establishment of the post-doctorate station, a group of excellent professors, doctors are assembled for the R&D of the corporate projects and tremendous success has been obtained. TBEA set up the R&D center around the location of the talents in the policy of pragmatism, which is focused on projects and the talents. TBEA set up R&D base in many places around China such as Hunan, Beijing, Xi'an, Shenyang and Xinjiang.
